Five Mind Shifts – Attract Outstanding Health

Progress

It can feel like you aren’t getting anywhere when you start exercising and eating healthier. The needle on the scale doesn’t budge or your pants aren’t much looser. Other people seem to be miles ahead even though you started the same time as them. Why are they so lucky?

However, have you really made no progress? Pause and reflect on how you have changed so far. Maybe you have new healthier habits you never had before. Your stronger since lifting weights and you can verify that by how much weight you can lift.

Whenever you take time to reflect you become wiser – and this my friend, is progress.

Pain of Regret

“You lack discipline!” – Is what you hear from motivational speakers and online gurus. When it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, having discipline can help, but it does mean stepping out of your comfort zone at times.

Yet, all of that pales in comparison to the pain of regret. A 2020 survey found that 76% of people regret not taking chances in life, such as pursuing dreams or trying new experiences. Missed opportunities were often cited as a greater source of regret than failures.

When you start with just a little discipline each day, you put yourself on the path of success and health.

Who You’re Becoming

That first circle was me when I was contemplating hanging up the towel as a coach. I couldn’t get any clients and no one would sign up for my programs. So I did some serious reflecting. I recognized I was simply on the the path to actualizing my vision and that it required me to go through this learning curve.

As a result,

Improving your health and fitness isn’t just about shedding pounds or reducing discomfort—it’s about transforming into the vibrant, capable version of yourself you’ve always wanted to be. Progress may feel gradual at times, but don’t lose faith in the incredible person you’re becoming—it’s a journey worth staying on. Keep your eyes on the benefits, stay committed, and trust that every small action adds up to something remarkable.

Two Choices

It really comes down to these two choices. Waiting keeps you stuck in the same cycle, in contrast, choosing to work for it puts you in control of your life. The strong healthy body you want is right over that hill, and you can achieve it, you can capture the moment. What won’t happen is you will not one day just wake up with a clean bill of health just by waiting around hoping opportunity falls into your lap.

Life Expectations

The sooner who understand that life never looks like the top image the better. It’s much closer to the bottom image – a series on constant ups and downs. This also means this how your progress looks when you are on your path to better health.

An example: ” I lost 10lbs! Woo hoo! Just crushed a personal record in my squats. Five days of eating healthy in a row…… I kind of over did it this weekend and drank too much… I feel like crap today and now I think I’m getting sick!… Ughh the scale went up again… Finished my upper body workout this morning ….. Oops I was late to work, my boss is pissed…. I got a parking ticket …. The kids tip over and broke my favorite lamp…

This is life. The better we can plan for the down sides the better we can adapt to stressful times and not be thrown off our game.
